LEGO® promotion proves hugely popular

This summer’s Esso fuel promotion, in which motorists have been able to buy LEGO® models at a special promotional price, has proved so popular that, with three weeks still to go, our distributor has completely run out of stock.

More than 750,000 LEGO® vehicles were ordered for the promotion, but take-up has been so strong that some Esso service stations have no models left, while limited stocks are still available at other Esso sites.

This year’s Esso promotion was timed to coincide with the school holidays to give younger car passengers some constructive fun.

Originally there were six different LEGO® models available: a jet ski, a police dinghy, a quad-bike, an aircraft, a fire engine and a helicopter. All have been available at a recommended retail price of €1.75 to customers spending at least €25 on fuel in a single transaction at participating Esso garages. Similar types of models normally retail for around €5.70.

Customers purchasing a top car wash or spending €5 or more on in-store purchases (excluding alcohol, lottery and tobacco products) at Esso service stations operated by Ireland ROC Limited ("ROC"), have also been eligible to buy a toy LEGO® kit.

Martin O’Dwyer, Esso’s UK & Ireland Programme Co-ordinator, said: “We are delighted that this year’s Esso promotion has proved so popular with our customers. Some Esso sites still have stocks of the models, so my advice to customers would be to check if the LEGO® models are still available at their Esso service station.”

Please note that the LEGO® promotion expires at 11:59pm on 31st August 2011.
